Meals on Wheels of Ridgefield, CT was founded in 1972 in the basement of Saint Mary School, delivering 24 meals/week to those in our community who were unable to prepare their own meals due to age, disability or recovery from illness, injury or surgery. Today, we prepare and deliver around 40,000 meals a year out of our commercial kitchen in Ballard Green. We have only 5 part-time employees and ov

er 160 volunteers who ensure our wheels keep turning. Lunch and dinner is available up to 7 days/week, and our meals are freshly prepared with plenty of healthy ingredients. We receive no federal or state aid and we rely on the generosity of the community to fund our program.

Some people leave footprints that remain long after they're gone.

Today, on what would have been Mendy Polchinski's birthday, we're honored to deliver a sponsored meal in her memory.

Mendy was a beloved Meals on Wheels volunteer whose kindness helped nourish more than just our clients—she helped strengthen the community we share. Though she was taken from us far too soon, the care and compassion she showed others continue to inspire us.

We remember Mendy today with gratitude, affection, and love. 💚
