Every year, during the last full week of January, communities across the country come together for a critical and compassionate undertaking known as the Point in Time (PIT) Count. This nationwide event is not just a procedure; it is a moment of reflection, understanding, and action against homelessness.

In each state starting on January 22nd, Continuums of Care along side countless other organizations like Love My Neighbor Foundation, will count this most vulnerable population one by one with the most dignity and respect. This event is an annual requirement of the US Dept. of Housing & Urban Development and ultimately determines federal spending amounts for programs that aid homeless individuals!

The most recent natural events that have occurred nationwide, will undoubtedly contribute to a staggering number of those homeless and displaced!

We will keep you all posted towards the end of the month on our Central Mississippi population.

I debated posting this picture but considering that today many of us are gonna be thankful for what we have and are gonna be spending it with those we love, eating very yummy food, I changed my mind. I didn't know my boyfriend had captured this moment. A couple of day's ago we went to eat late at night and as we waited for our order i saw this homeless lady walk in asking people that were throwing away there leftovers if she could have them. Not one person said yes, they all ignored her and threw it away it broke my heart...I have been volunteering with the homeless now for many years... they don't repulse me or make me sick to my stomach. I hold them all with so much love. So I told Fred if I see her before we are done eating I will give her my food. I looked for her as we were getting ready to leave and couldn't find her.....I felt sad knowing all the rejection she had that night searching for a warm meal. As I was gonna throw away my one leftover chicken strip and like 5 fries I heard a very quite voice ask me if I had anything left. I turned around and it was her..l gave her my food and watched her sit and eat it.....but something didn't feel right...I felt like a horrible human being feeding her my leftover chicken strip..she deserved so much more...so I bought her a whole meal..she deserved to eat a hot meal. When I ordered the meal I asked the employee for a huge favor to please do not kick her out as we waited...I could already see the disgust on people's faces as she sat at the table eating the leftovers I had given her....news flash people not all homeless people smell like roses. She was getting ready to get up and leave when I surprised her with this meal....the look on her face said it all...I have never felt something like this...pure, real gratitude. That hug she gave me was like a hug I had never felt....those tears she shed were felt deep in my heart...I held her tight and let her let it out. I wasn't repulsed by it....I just held her. And that is a moment I will never ever forget. So next time u judge a homeless person think twice...not all of them are homeless because of a drug addiction or because they are lazy.

The devastation in Rolling Fork is still so very raw weeks after the storm and families are still trying to pick up the pieces. Yesterday, Love My Neighbor Foundation Inc. partnered with the 3D Nation Unit to adopt and sponsor 14 families with the relief they needed. Words couldn't describe their gratitude! Thank you to all of our many sponsors and donors! Without your support none of our efforts yesterday would have been possible. Please continue to keep these families in your prayers as they continue to regain strength in the months to come!🕊️💕✨

Look forward to our next trip and updates on all of the families.❤️‍🩹

How important is your neighbor? What would you do if your neighbor was in need? What if your life depended on the help of your neighbor?

The answers to these questions may all be subjective but can be answered with assurance in Luke 10:25-37. I’m so fortunate to have learned this amazing lesson from such an incredible friend!💕

The Parable of the Good Samaritan✨

25 And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 26 He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?” 27 And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” 28 And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”

29 But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” 30 Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead. 31 Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side. 32 So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. 33 But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. 34 He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. 35 And the next day he took out two denarii[a] and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’ 36 Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?” 37 He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”

"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another."✨
