Please join us in congratulating Sgt. Kelly Chapin, who serves as the Central Sergeant-at-Arms on the MLEOA Board.

During the recent MLEOA conference, Sgt. Chapin competed against fellow board members from law enforcement agencies across Mississippi and earned the prestigious "Best Motor on the Board" award.

This recognition highlights Sgt. Chapin's exceptional motorcycle skills, professionalism, dedication to training, and commitment to excellence in traffic safety and motor operations. Competing against some of the state's most experienced law enforcement motorcycle officers makes this achievement even more impressive.

We are proud to have Sgt. Chapin representing the Ridgeland Police Department at the state level and bringing this honor home to Ridgeland.

Congratulations, Sgt. Chapin, on a job well done! Your hard work, skill, and dedication continue to make our department proud.

This award will call Ridgeland home for the next year, and we will proudly display it in our lobby for all to see.

Today, we had the honor of taking the raffle tickets to Cpl. Ryan Stacy so he could personally draw the winners of our fundraiser raffle.

During our visit, we were also joined by Vickie Moak with Warriors of the Badge, who presented Ryan and his wife with a generous donation to assist them during this challenging time. Ryan was blessed with a beautiful hand-quilted blanket. He was also handed a first responder devotional book from Todd McAlpin.

Ryan remains in good spirits, and while he still has a long road ahead in his recovery, his determination and positive attitude continue to inspire all of us.

We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated, purchased raffle tickets, sent cards, offered encouragement, and most importantly, lifted Ryan and his family up in prayer. The outpouring of support from our community has been truly overwhelming.

We are incredibly proud of the citizens of Ridgeland and the people across Mississippi who have come together to support one of our own. Your generosity, kindness, and prayers remind us what makes our communities so special.

Please continue to keep Cpl. Stacy and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery journey.

🚔 Officer of the Month 🚔

The Ridgeland Police Department is proud to recognize Officer Tristan Xerri as our Officer of the Month for May 2026.

Officer Xerri was nominated by Sgt. Justin Sones after responding to a call involving a citizen who suffered a severe arm injury from a saw blade and was rapidly losing blood. Upon arrival, Officer Xerri immediately assessed the situation and applied a tourniquet to the injured limb, successfully controlling the bleeding until emergency medical personnel arrived on scene.

Officer Xerri’s quick thinking, decisive actions, and effective use of his training in a high-stress situation very likely saved the citizen’s life and prevented further injury.

His professionalism, composure, and commitment to serving others reflect the highest standards of the Ridgeland Police Department and make him highly deserving of this recognition.

Please join us in congratulating Officer Xerri on this well-earned honor! 👏

Tristan Xerri was recognized during last night’s board meeting as Officer of the Month. Congratulations and thank you for your service!
