AWARENESS - CATHOLIC CHARITIES
By CHRISTINA BACH - Special to the Sun
For more than 60 years, Catholic Charities, Inc. of Jackson has been a visible sign of Christβs love in Mississippi. Since 1963 we have had the privilege of walking alongside people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Our programs and the people we serve have changed over the years, but our mission has remained constant: to meet people where they are, offer hope when life feels overwhelming, and help individuals and families discover a path toward healing, stability, and a brighter future.
At Catholic Charities, we are not afraid to go where God leads us. Sometimes that means helping a mother break free from the bo***ge of substance use so she can build a healthy and loving future for herself and her children. Through our Born Free/New Beginnings program, supported by the Mississippi Department of Mental Health, we walk beside mothers as they work toward recovery, strengthen their parenting skills, and create stronger families. Every success story is meaningfulβa mother reaching a milestone in recovery, a child experiencing a safe and stable home, or a family celebrating another day together. Healing is inter-generational and serves as prevention of trauma and abuse.
