Thank you to FIRST Ridgeland Baptist Church for an outstanding volunteer morning at the Ridgeland Wildflower Field and Art Park yesterday. Our thanks to Jake Hill, LIFEserve Associate, for arranging our volunteer days with the church. These volunteers along with Keep Ridgeland Beautiful and City of Ridgeland Parks and Rec team member James Matthews, put out over 50 rolls of pine straw on the berms and entrance beds, providing a fresh look!

Volunteers also cleared out unwanted vegetation in some areas of the field to provide the wildflowers more room to grow.

Visitors and photographers must stay on the paths to protect the growth of the new flowers. Please visit often.

Keep America Beautiful released their National 2026 Litter Study today!

🎉 BIG NEWS: Our 2026 National Litter Study is here!

After months of research, we’re thrilled to release the most comprehensive data on litter in America—and the findings are incredibly encouraging.

Litter across U.S. roadways and waterways is down 34% since 2020. Every American’s share dropped from 152 pieces to 96. This is proof that when communities work together, real change happens.

But our work is far from done—35 billion pieces of litter remain. The study shows us exactly where we need to focus next, and with America’s 250th birthday approaching, there has never been a better time to finish what we started.

📊 Dive into the data and discover what’s working across the country.

Planting a tree today is a commitment to the neighbors
of tomorrow.
This week, we are celebrating the incredible power of
"greening" our neighborhoods. Trees don’t just look
beautiful; they clean our air, provide shade (hello, lower
energy bills!), and offer habitats for local wildlife. If we all
plant one thing this season, imagine how beautiful our
world will be.
What are you planting this spring? Show us your green
thumbs below.

Keep Ridgeland Beautiful was busy yesterday! Early in the morning we went to Canton to participate in Keep Canton Beautiful/Keep Mississippi Beautiful’s State Great American Cleanup kick off. We joined 175 other volunteers and Canton city workers at Saab Park to refresh landscaping and install new plants, move mountains of mulch and install new benches and waste containers. Check out this beautiful park the next time you are in Canton.

We also attended an Arbor Day pecan tree planting at Freedom Ridge Park. The River of Pearls Garden Club planted the tree in honor of Ridgeland’s First Lady, Jane McGee and provided a beautiful program as well as pecan-themed refreshments. The tree is planted in the pecan grove located inside the front entrance of the park. The pecan tree is official tree of Ridgeland.
