It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of former Ridgely Police Chief, Terry Pierce.
Chief Pierce was not only a dedicated and outstanding law enforcement officer, but also a truly great man. He was loved by many and known for his kindness, compassion, and the respect he showed to everyone he encountered. He always treated people the right way and led by example.
Chief Pierce had a deep love for the City of Ridgely and great pride in his police department. His service, leadership, and heart for the community will never be forgotten.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LAKE COUNTY EDUCATOR CHARGED WITH SEXUAL MISCONDUCT

LAKE COUNTY, TN [September 26 2025] - The 29th District Attorney’s Office would like to inform our community about an ongoing investigation that began on Friday, September 19, 2025. Allegations of sexual misconduct have been reported against a Lake County educator, Phillip Kimble. Following LCSO’s investigation, Mr. Kimble has been charged with one count of aggravated r**e of a student, in addition to multiple counts of solicitation of a minor involving several other students.

We want to emphasize that the identities of the juvenile victims are protected by law and will not be disclosed.

We urge anyone who may be a victim of crimes committed by Mr. Kimble to come forward and speak with an investigator at the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Counseling services are available through the Lake County School System, and the district attorney’s office also has victim services ready to assist. We recognize that these allegations can be traumatic, and we encourage any student affected to reach out for mental health support.

The LCSO will conduct a thorough and fair investigation into these allegations. Mr. Kimble appeared before Lake County General Sessions Judge Andrew Cook on Monday for arraignment where a $250,000.00 bond was set.

Please understand that more charges may evolve as additional information becomes available. Lake County District Attorney Danny Goodman, Jr. of the 29th Judicial District will be prosecuting this case.

Thank you for your attention and support as we navigate this serious matter.

We want to take a moment to show our deep appreciation for our Sheriff and his tireless effort in working alongside all the local, state, and federal agencies across West Tennessee to bring into custody a suspect wanted on multiple first-degree murder charges connected to the tragic events in Tiptonville.

When an active investigation is underway, there are often many details that can’t be shared with the public—but please know that behind the scenes, countless hours of work and coordination are happening to keep our community safe.

Thank you, Sheriff Avery, for your dedication, leadership, and relentless work to see justice served. We appreciate you!
