You just cant go wrong with a Fredrik Backman novel. One of the best writers of today, in my opinion. His writing is so spectacular and it makes you question your morals, your judgments, beliefs, the way you look at life and tests your sense of decency. Not bad work for a 336 page novel, huh? While his "A Man Called Ove" will always be my #1, this one is not to be missed.

Two of the best in the world would like to wish all of you Happy Dog Day! They recommend the book "Do Your Ears Hang Low", illustrated by Jenny Cooper

Can you believe that our furry friends have been with us for at least 14,000 years? Thank goodness for that because what would we do without human’s best friend? It is time to pull out pictures of your pup and share your love for them with the world!

The aim of promoting this day is to raise awareness about adopting these animals who are currently in rescue centers. In addition, on this day promote dog ownership of all breeds, pure and mix. Embrace National Dog Day as an opportunity for all dogs to live a safe, happy and abuse-free life.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

Dolly was a beloved artist and cultural icon, but perhaps just as importantly, she was a lifelong champion of literacy and the belief that everyone deserves access to books. Through the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, she helped put books into the hands of children in communities across the globe and inspired generations of young readers to discover the joy of reading.

Please take a moment to read in Dolly’s memory and to celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
