It's here! 1️⃣4️⃣🎉
Our 14th issue is a look back through our memories and a celebration of the places we've been.
Stories—like a reflective essay remembering a classic piece of gear and a writer's return to hike the longest trail in her tiny home state—celebrate nostalgia. It begins on the front cover—our first cover shot on film. Taken by Stephanie Blenderman, it's a wistful look at an Eastern Sierra backpacking trip. This issue's stories include an examination of the decline in congressional wilderness designations, the story of a dual-species paddling trip in Washington, the history of the venerable adventure skirt, reporting on just how far the outdoor community is willing to go to support Indigenous rights, plus all the recipes, trip reports, maps, and more than you expect from Trails Magazine.
If you're a subscriber, your magazine is already in the mail. Copies left the printer last Friday and can take up to two weeks to arrive. Please be patient with us, as well as with our friends at the USPS. When your magazine arrives, tag us in a photo! We love to keep track of where they're showing up.
If you didn't subscribe before May 1, we'd recommend snagging a copy (head to the link in our. bio) of this issue while you still can. We only printed a few hundred extras, beyond what we printed for our subscribers, and once we sell out (we will!), they're gone forever. Grab a copy alongside a subscription to start a collection and get Issue 15 and beyond earlier an cheaper.
