The Office of Sheriff is mandated by the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and is the highest ranking law enforcement office in the coun
ty. Core functions include service of civil and criminal processes for the Court of Common Pleas and Magisterial District Courts. Security for the Court of Common Pleas and other county buildings is a daily function. Weekly schedules involve prisoner transports from state and county institutions across the Commonwealth for scheduled court proceedings, and service and enforcement of Protection from Abuse Orders. When called upon, the Office extradites wanted persons from other states and areas of the Commonwealth. The Sheriff’s Office also conducts Sheriff’s sales regarding real property and levies and conduct sales of personal property. Additionally, the Office issues other specific regulatory licensing for the county and License to Carry Fi****ms. These services are provided to Elk County citizens with the assistance of an Officer Manager, Chief Deputy, several sworn deputies, and a Solicitor. ELK COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE CONTACTS:
