It's been two weeks since we opened registration for our Summer Reading Program and already ✨248 readers✨ have registered to read with us this summer -- putting us within striking distance of last year’s entire season total. 😎

Whether you are five or ninety-five, here is why you should join our reading community this summer:
◦Stay Sharp: Research shows that students who don't read over the summer can slide back significantly, sometimes ending up two grade levels behind their peers. Summer reading keeps those gears turning for a smoother start in the fall.
◦Get Priority Access: Registered readers get first dibs on our event registrations, ensuring you have a spot in our most popular programs.
◦Win Big: Just by logging your books, you could win passes to DelGrosso’s Park, the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, or even Pittsburgh Pirates tickets.

If you haven't joined the RPL Summer Reading movement yet, now is the time. Our FREE Summer Reading Program encourages literacy for all ages. Set goals, track your progress, and win prizes! Registration is required via the Beanstack app (Android/iOS) or at ridgwaylibrary.beanstack.com.

It was another loud, chaotic, and FUN LEGO Club session! We laughed, we built, we made some 6-7 references. 🤷‍♀️ And one lucky attendee went home with a new prize book to honor her hard work.

Join us in congratulating FSG 1st grader Izzy, who built not one, not two, but THREE animal structures as part of our American Institute of Architects challenge. Frank Lloyd Wright better watch out! And yay Izzy! ✨

Remember — beginning June 17th, LEGO Club will be moving from a monthly to a weekly slot. We’ll meet Wednesday mornings at 10:30. Designed for students in grades K-5, LEGO Club is a fun way to build and create with your friends (and win some cool prizes). 😎

Don't forget!: LEGO Club meets this evening at 4:30 for a special challenge courtesy of the American Institute of Architects Pennsylvania Chapter!

Roll one dice to determine your building type (hospital, school, gym, LIBRARY 👀). Roll the other dice to determine your animal client (frankly, we'd love to visit a fish library). Then build your structure and space, taking into consideration each animal's unique environment and needs. It's creative, it's cute, and it's a good way to help create future Pennsylvania architects. 🐒 🏛️ ✨

What a morning! We wrapped up spring Story Time in style with Taco Tambourines 🌮✨ — and got a very special surprise.

Ann Horner of Elk County Foods stopped by to hand a $3,985.81 check directly to the kids — the perfect reminder of exactly who your generosity supports. This donation comes from ECF's community round-up campaign, organized by Steve Cleveland and his team, where 100% of contributions go straight back to the community with zero administrative fees.

That means every spare coin goes directly toward the supplies, materials, and experiences that bring our whole community together — from the tiniest tambourine-makers to the grown-ups who love them.

Thank you, Steve, Ann, and everyone at ECF — and thank you to all our neighbors investing directly in our community of readers. 💛

📅 Monday, June 8th
🕓 4:30 PM
Whether you are mid-project or looking to start something new, bring your supplies and join us for some stitching and good conversation. All skill levels are welcome and no registration required.

Tomorrow is our *final* Story Time before we take a break to get ready for Summer Reading, and we're going out with a grand fiesta, featuring a fan favorite -- "Dragons Love Tacos" by Adam Rubin. 🌮 🐉

To celebrate, we'll make some paper plate tambourines, decorated to look like whatever you'd like (including, you guessed it, a TACO).
