Ouray County - Status of High Country Plow Routes (as of 6/9/2026):
Imogene Pass:
Rich and Bruce have completed winter maintenance of Imogene Pass and that road is now open on the Ouray County side only. The San Miguel County side remains under heavy snow above Tomboy. Rich and Bruce are bringing our dozers down at this time and performing annual road maintenance at the same time.
Engineer Pass:
Bumper and Josh continue to perform mechanical rock excavation on Engineer Pass and are presently working a couple switchbacks beyond (east of) Poughkipsie Gulch Road. We expect this work to take another week to complete. While this work is underway, Monday through Friday, all traffic (to include foot traffic) is prohibited in the affected area. The road will be open to traffic Saturdays and Sundays. We will provide updates as this work progresses.
Governor Basin Road:
This road will remain closed at the intersection with Sidney Basin Road for most of the season due to site reclamation and public safety work for the EPA.
