Please use caution while traveling in and around the Borough over the next two days.

The nor’easter impacting the coast has begun affecting our area, bringing bands of heavy rain, strong winds, and areas of minor flooding.

Numerous trees and branches have fallen throughout the Borough, obstructing roadways and sidewalks. Police and Highway Department personnel are actively working to clear travel routes and keep roadways open.

Please slow down, remain alert, and use extra caution when approaching or traveling through an active emergency or cleanup scene.

Heat is the #1 weather related killer in the U.S. by far with around 211 deaths per year. Each passing day of heat leads to stress on the body and can lead to heat illness. Stay hydrated with water and electrolytes and avoid the peak heat of the day.

This has the potential to become one of the most significant heat events in Philadelphia history! Especially because of its duration and very little nighttime cooling.

An extended Extreme Heat Watch has been issued by the National Weather Service from Wednesday through Saturday. The worst days will be Thursday and Friday with no relief, even at the shore! Heat index numbers could climb to 110 degrees in some areas.

A blizzard warning has been issued for our area, bringing the potential for heavy snow, high winds and cold air. This will be a heavy wet snow which is more hazardous to shovel and it also can mean down wires and tree limbs.
Be aware and adhere to area snow zones/routes. Some borough streets are designated snow routes and cars should be moved from those areas. Use driveways where possible.
- If you have a fire hydrant near your home, please clean the area around the hydrant.
- Check on elderly neighbors and assist them as needed.
- Shovel/ blow snow onto property not onto the roadway.
- Stay off the roads unless you absolutely must travel somewhere.
- Keep in mind that emergency services personnel will be extremely busy.

**No reason to report roads are bad, they know.
***Make sure your address is visible from the street.
