Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend. It is a time to reflect, remember, and give thanks for the freedoms we have because of those who never made it home.

May we never forget their courage, their service, and their sacrifice.

🎉🚑CONGRATULATIONS EMT graduates🚑🎉
ADR Fire-Rescue is proud to recognize two of our very own, Roger Toney and Brett Toney, for their hard work.

Roger not only completed the EMT program, but also graduated with the highest grade point average in his class.

Although Brett was unable to attend the ceremony tonight, he was out putting his certification to use, pursuing his EMS career.

We’re proud of both of you and excited to see the impact you will continue to make in our department and in the communities we serve.

🚨🐾Acme Delco Elementary School has some exciting news to share!😁

We are proud to announce that ADES is now officially Project ADAM Certified!

Project ADAM is a nationally recognized program that educates and equips schools to respond to sudden cardiac arrest. Through this certification, our school has implemented CPR and AED training, established and practiced emergency response plans, and ensured access to life-saving equipment. Becoming a “Heart Safe” school reflects our deep commitment to the safety and well-being of every student, staff member, and visitor who walks through our doors.

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication and teamwork of an incredible group of individuals. We would like to recognize and thank:
❤️Heather Daniels
❤️Alicia Freeman
❤️Susan Carr
❤️David Waddell
❤️Shonda Hooper
❤️Officer Lewis
❤️Greg Moss
Secretary Christie Hogbone
Principal Kristie Leinthall
Savannah Patrick

❤️ADES Fire Rescue
❤️Nurse Karen Johnson

Because of their hard work, ADES is better prepared to respond in critical moments and provide a safer environment for all.

At Acme Delco Elementary, safety is more than a priority; it is a promise. We remain committed to protecting our school community and continuing to take proactive steps that make a lasting difference. Together, we are building not only a stronger school but a safer future for everyone.

This weekend, 9 members of Acme-Delco-Riegelwood Fire-Rescue attended the New Hanover County Firefighter Association Public Safety College.

Members completed training in Basic Firefighter Skills and hose lay/advancement techniques for multi-family and multi-story residential buildings. Some learned new skills, others sharpened their craft by throwing ladders, handling hose lines, completing smoked-out simulations. And of course no firefighter was finished before conquering the tower.

As our area continues to grow, our department remains committed to preparing for the future and adding tools to the belt to better serve our community.

Thank you to our members for investing in themselves and their promise to serve. And to our community. Thank you for your continued support.

🔥🚫 BURN BAN LIFTED – EFFECTIVE 8AM! 🚫🔥

It’s finally over.

As of 8:00 AM tomorrow morning, the burn ban will officially be lifted and outdoor burning will once again be allowed.

That said—just because you can burn, doesn’t mean we let our guard down. Let’s do it the right way. 👇

🔥 BURN RESPONSIBLY:
• Clear the area around your fire
• Keep water or tools nearby
• NEVER leave a fire unattended

Our crews have been working hard through these dry conditions—let’s keep it safe for everyone and avoid unnecessary calls.

💪 One Team. One Mission. Always Ready.

ADR Fire Rescue 🚒

Today, 9 of our members are representing ADR at the
43rd New Hanover County Firefighter’s Association Public Safety College hosted by Cape Fear Community College and the New Hanover County Firefighters Association.

From April 29 – May 3, 2026, firefighters from across the region are coming together to sharpen their skills and push their limits.

Our crew is getting after it:
🔥 Some members are building their foundation in Basic Fire Operations
🔥 Others are advancing their skills with Engine Operations in Multi-Family Dwellings

This isn’t classroom-only training — this is real-world, hands-on experience that directly impacts how we serve our community.

At ADR, we believe one thing above all else:
👉 Training is the key.

The more we train, the better prepared we are when the tones drop.

Join us in wishing our members a safe, productive week of training!

Do you have what it takes to step up and serve your community?

🔥 ADR FIRE RESCUE – PROUD MOMENT 🔥

Tonight, we celebrate a huge accomplishment for two of our own!

Please join us in congratulating Clifton Warner (154) and Sherman Huff (146) on graduating from Southeastern Community College with their Firefighter Certification! 👨‍🚒🎓

This certification is just the beginning of their journey in the fire service. The long hours, hard work, and dedication they’ve put in have paid off—and now it’s time to take that knowledge and turn it into real-world experience, serving and protecting our community.

Becoming a firefighter isn’t easy. It takes commitment, sacrifice, and heart—and these two have proven they have what it takes.

We are incredibly proud of both of you and look forward to watching you grow in the fire service.

💪🔥 The future of ADR is strong.

Think you have what it takes to join them?
We’re always looking for motivated individuals ready to step up and serve their community. Reach out today and start your journey.

April 2026 Call Volume

Behind every number is a responder who answered the call, day or night, rain or shine.

In April, our members handled:
🔥 23-Fire Calls
🚑 71-EMS Calls
🔄 7-Combined Calls
101 Total Calls

That’s 356 calls year-to-date, averaging 2.9 calls every single day—and every one of those calls took dedication, teamwork, and a commitment to this community.

Our volunteers continue to step up, sacrificing their time for their neighbors, their families, and complete strangers in need. That’s what makes ADR special.

💪 Do you have what it takes?
We’re always looking for motivated individuals ready to serve. No experience? No problem, we’ll train you.

📩 Message us or stop by the station to learn how you can join the team and make a difference.

Be part of something bigger. Be ADR. 🚒
