Coal Ridge High School seniors recently took part in the annual Grad Walks, visiting elementary and middle schools across the district as students and staff lined the halls to celebrate their accomplishment of graduating.
For many seniors, the walk was more than a celebration—it was a chance to reflect on how far they’ve come and revisit the schools where their educational journey began. Along the way, students reconnected with former teachers and staff members who helped shape and support them throughout the years.
The Grad Walk also serves as an inspiring moment for younger students, giving them the opportunity to cheer on the graduating class and imagine their own future accomplishments one day. It was a meaningful tradition filled with pride, memories, and community support!

If only we knew which moments would become memories.

The last sunset together. The final walkthrough familiar halls. The conversations, laughter, and traditions that somehow became part of who you are.

Some chapters feel like they’ll last forever—until suddenly it’s time to turn the page.

To the Coal Ridge High School Class of 2026: thank you for the memories you’ve made, the spirit you’ve brought to our schools, and the mark you’ve left on this community.

Here’s to the moments you’ll never forget and the adventures waiting just ahead.

Congratulations, Titans. 💙🎓

¡Felicitaciones, Titanes! 💙🎓

Highland Elementary fifth graders recently brought creativity and literacy to life through their exciting “Fractured Fairy Tales” projects. Students reimagined classic fairy tales by putting their own unique spin on familiar stories — changing characters, settings, plots, and points of view to create original and entertaining new versions. As part of the project, students not only wrote their stories, but also acted them out and presented their work to classmates, staff, and families. From creative costumes to imaginative storytelling, the event showcased students’ writing skills, confidence, collaboration, and creativity while making literacy learning both engaging and fun. The project was a wonderful example of Highland students thinking critically, communicating effectively, and bringing their learning to life in memorable ways.

Future business owners in the making 💼✨

Students at ECE and KSE recently became entrepreneurs during their Makers Markets, turning classrooms into buzzing marketplaces full of creativity and big ideas.

From baked goods and snow cones to handmade crafts, jewelry, nail salons, hair styling, and more, students created and ran their own businesses while practicing real-world skills like customer service, money management, inventory, marketing, and problem-solving.

After selling, students even got the chance to shop their classmates’ booths with the money they earned — making the experience both fun and hands-on.

Safe to say… Garfield Re-2 has some pretty impressive future CEOs 👏

Highland Elementary fourth graders recently brought Colorado history to life through their annual “Colorado Characters” project. As part of the unit, students researched influential historical figures connected to Colorado and transformed into their chosen character through presentations, costumes, and interactive displays. From pioneers and educators to medical professionals and community leaders, students shared the stories, accomplishments, and impact of the individuals they studied with classmates, staff, and families. The project combined literacy, research, public speaking, and creativity while helping students develop a deeper understanding of Colorado’s rich history and the people who helped shape it. The event was a wonderful showcase of student engagement, confidence, and hands-on learning in action.
