We can’t wait to see everyone for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL tomorrow!

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing PTO for setting up a special station where families can take their students’ First Day of School photos! 📸❤️

A Few First-Day Reminders:

* Our front doors open at 7:30 AM.
* Students may arrive anytime between 7:30–7:55 AM.
* The bell rings at 7:55 AM.
* Dismissal is at 3:40 PM.

🚗 Morning Drop-Off: If you plan to get out of your vehicle, please park and walk with your student. We want to keep our drop-off line moving smoothly, so please do not leave your vehicle while in the drop-off line.

Parents: You are welcome to walk your student out to the back of the school and help them find their class line. To help our morning traffic flow smoothly, only kindergarten parents may walk their students to their classrooms.
All other families will say their goodbyes at the back doors, and students will walk inside with their teacher and class. We can’t wait to see everyone for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL tomorrow!
Going Home: Please make sure your student knows how they are getting home at the end of the day. If you have any last-minute transportation changes, please make sure to notify the office so we can get everyone where they need to go safely.

🐻 **BEAR AWARE, GME FAMILIES!** 💙💛

We are aware of the recent bear sightings in our neighborhood, and bears are highly active during the morning hours. We encourage all families to talk with their children about bear safety and teach them what to do if they see a bear. Please consider having students walk to school in groups or dropping them off at school, especially in the mornings.

Please remind your child:
• Stay calm and DO NOT RUN
• Slowly back away and give the bear plenty of space
• Never approach or follow a bear
• Make your presence known and stay with a group
• Tell an adult immediately about any bear sighting

What will happen at school?
If a bear is spotted on or near our playground during school hours, we will bring all students and staff inside and initiate a lockout. During a lockout, everyone remains safely inside and no one will be allowed in or out of the building until we receive clearance. Families will be notified and kept informed if this occurs.
If there is a bear sighting during dismissal, we will hold students safely inside until local authorities let us know it is safe to dismiss. If your child normally walks home, we may ask families to pick up their student instead of allowing them to walk home that day.
Our priority is always the safety of our students and staff. We will communicate with families as quickly as possible regarding any safety alerts or changes to arrival or dismissal.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe while also helping keep our local wildlife wild!
