MyRide K-12 Update: What You Need to Know for Monday
Hello Garfield Re-2 Families,
My name is Oscar Walker, and I’m the new Transportation Director for Garfield Re-2 School District.
We know the rollout of MyRide K-12 has had a few hiccups. We appreciate your patience as we work through them. MyRide K-12 will give families much better access to bus information, and right now our team is working hard to ensure everything is ready for the first day of school.
With school starting Monday, I wanted to share a few important things:
If your child rode the bus last year, their pick-up and drop-off locations are likely the same. We have made very few changes to our routes. If you are unsure about Monday morning, please use last year’s bus stop location. Times may have changed due to the number of students on the route.
If you have the MyRide K-12 app, you should see your child’s morning route. We are still entering afternoon routes, and those should begin appearing soon.
If your child needs a regular pick-up or drop-off at another location such as a grandparent’s house, another parent’s home, or a babysitter, please send that request through the MyRide K-12 app. Families received a letter through ParentSquare with MyRide K-12 information, including their child’s student ID number, which you’ll need to log in. Once you are logged in, tap the three lines in the upper-left corner and select Message. Please include the days needed, whether the request is for morning or afternoon, the location and the child’s relationship to the person at that location. Then tap Send in the lower-right corner.
For all other questions, please call the Transportation Department at 970-665-7630 or my cell phone at 970-917-0886.
I’ll be working on Friday and Saturday to answer as many questions as I can and help our families get ready for Monday. We are responding as quickly as possible, and with the number of calls we are receiving, we may not be able to answer every call right away. We appreciate your patience.
Our Transportation team is looking forward to seeing your children Monday morning and getting them safely to school.
See you on the road!
Oscar Walker
