The event highlighted the bond between handler and dog, while demonstrating the dogs’ abilities in protecting the handler and obedience. The exciting and interactive display drew strong community interest, giving potential recruits a firsthand look at unique career opportunities within the military.

Detachment conducted training to enhance their Military Working Dogs' ability to perform controlled aggression in a pool environment.
This exercise built the dogs' confidence, strength, and endurance while reinforcing obedience under stress. It also challenged handlers to maintain positive control in an unfamiliar setting, ensuring the teams remain adaptable and disciplined for diverse operational environments.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of presenting PCS gifts to SFC Jones and SGT Moore. As they wrap up their time with the 523rd, we’re reminded of the impact they’ve made through their leadership, dedication, and genuine care for soldiers. Their commitment to upholding high standards and discipline has set a strong example for all to emulate. SFC Jones will be heading to Fort Carson, and SGT Moore to Fort Myer—both units are gaining exceptional NCOs. While it’s tough to see them leave, we’re excited to see what they accomplish next. Best of luck to you both, you’ll always be part of the 523rd family.
