We want to extend our congratulations to Zac Snow on his graduation and outstanding achievement as the Pinnacle award winner for the graduating class 26-02. He and his family are warmly welcomed into the Rincon Fire Department. We look forward to seeing him on shift Monday.

The Rincon Fire Department is on the way to Brantley County to help with the wildfires this morning. We will be taking Tender, brush truck, and command staff vehicles. Please pray for the people of Brantley county. Some have lost everything. Lets keep them in your prayers. Good luck and gods speed for safe return.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rincon, GA — At approximately 4:11 a.m., emergency personnel from the Rincon Fire Department and the Rincon Police Department responded to a reported residential structure fire on South Howard Ave. Upon arrival, responders were advised that an elderly woman was trapped inside the residence.
Fire personnel made entry into the home and located the woman trapped inside a bedroom. During rescue operations, the fire flashed, resulting in injuries to a firefighter.

Rincon Police officers on scene immediately assisted by advancing a hose line and suppressing the fire, allowing fire personnel to safely remove the woman from the residence. The coordinated actions of Rincon police, Rincon and Effingham fire and EMS personnel were instrumental in the successful rescue this morning. .
The resident was transported via Life Star to the Augusta Burn Center for further medical treatment.
The injured firefighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.
Additionally, several Rincon Police officers experienced smoke inhalation during the incident. All affected officers were evaluated by medical personnel and subsequently released.

The American Red Cross responded to the scene to provide assistance to those displaced as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No further information regarding patient conditions will be released at this time. Updates will be provided as appropriate.
