Something new has taken root behind City Hall. 🌿
Threaded, a 19-foot stainless steel sculpture by Chattanooga-based artist Isaac Duncan III, is now on display in the heart of downtown Ringgold, and if you've been out walking lately, you may have already spotted it catching the light.
Isaac is no stranger to big stages. His work has been collected by Georgia Tech, Erlanger Children's Hospital, Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park, and institutions across the country. But what drew the Ringgold CVB to Threaded in particular was the story the piece tells. It's one that felt right at home here.
The sculpture's name is a nod to the history of sewing, quilting, and needlework traditions that have long been woven into the fabric of our community. It's a piece that connects where we've been to what we're becoming.
Threaded will be on display for the next two years, giving our community plenty of time to sit with it, walk past it, and see what it means to you. Pull up a chair at one of the outdoor tables nearby, bring your lunch, and take it in. 🪡
