Members have had a busy weekend involving all types of calls. Friday night units were dispatched to assist VDOT with a tree that had both lanes of Kentuck Rd blocked. While yesterday 2 medical calls were answered as they were dispatched only 20 minutes apart. Lastly, members are currently operating on a grass fire in the 3200 block of South Boston Hwy.

Station 23 went to work yesterday on a garage fire out in Kentuck. While en route a large header was noticed miles away, prompting a working fire & additional station being added. Units arrived to find a 3 bay garage heavily involved with fire. E233 first arriving engine utilized 2 attack lines to extinguish the fire. Multiple tankers were on scene providing the water supply. Station 23 responded with 2 engines, tanker, and advanced level transport with 12 personnel.

‼️Double Post‼️

This evening Station 23 was dispatched to the Halifax/Pittsylvania County line for a reported MVC involving 2 tractor trailers on HWY 58. The rescue engine arrived, finding the same. There were no injuries with just minor leaks but traffic control was a major hazard. At the time of this post units are still on the scene assisting VDOT & State Police. The 2 engines and the utility are operating.

While several members were assisting on the accident, others met at the firehouse for an evening of EMS training. We thank all our members who are away from their families gaining knowledge and/or assisting the community tonight.

SOUTH BOSTON HWY;[PROQA] Caller Statement: TREE AND GRASS ON FIRE

Station 23 responded to a small outside fire this afternoon. Ringgold responded with 2 engines & the brush truck, arriving to find a small fire around a tree trunk. Stations 24 & 34 were also on the call but canceled by command due to the small amount of fire found.

Station/Squad 23 was dispatched to the 6900 block of South Boston Hwy for a motor vehicle accident this morning. Units arrived & found 2 vehicles with moderate damage. The transport assessed the patients while the rescue engine & ladder assisted with traffic control.

Members operated on a minor vehicle accident in the 6500 block of Kentuck road today. Units arrived to find a single vehicle off the road with minor damage & one occupant with no complaints. Station 23 responded with Advanced 231 & Brush 234 with Station 24 responding with Engine 241.
