A Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been issued for parts of north Georgia until 1 AM EDT tonight.

☀️ COOLING STATION OPENING FOR CATOOSA COUNTY RESIDENTS ☀️

With extreme heat expected in our area over the coming days, Catoosa County Emergency Management has partnered with the Catoosa County Library to provide a Cooling Station for anyone needing relief from the dangerous temperatures.

🕒 Cooling Station Hours:
Monday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Thursday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Sunday: CLOSED

🌡️ High temperatures can quickly become dangerous, especially for older adults, young children, individuals with chronic medical conditions, and those without adequate air conditioning.

Heat Safety Tips:
💧 Drink plenty of water—even if you don't feel thirsty.
🏠 Stay indoors or in air-conditioned locations during the hottest part of the day.
👵 Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and friends.
🚗 Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
