🧱The town of Ringle was honored to receive this donation of $1,000 to aid in rebuilding after the tornado from 🇺🇸The Polish Legion of American Veterans John Paul II Post 185.🇺🇸
Ringle’s town chairman Al Christensen, a veteran himself, graciously accepted the donation from the veteran. When Al asked his name he said, “they just call me Gunner.”

🥹When the call came in for a donation drop off, we knew this was something special to get recorded.

What may seem like small things to some is making big impacts.

The Ringle community is grateful for the donations sent to The Community Foundation that have been immediately used in part to sponsor the dumpsters placed in our community for all to use.
Having dumpsters available has been essential.
Thank you to those who donated and thank you to the Community Foundation for answering this immediate need.
As it’s said ✨all that glitters is not gold✨.

“Residents impacted by the tornado can request a dumpster for cleanup by following the steps below. Please call 715-845-9555 to get started. Unless you are providing your own dumpster, all communication needs to go through the Community Foundation. Requests are processed in the order in which they are received.”

County Meeting Update:

Marathon County will not waive their landfill dumping fee, but they will reduce it.
Just for clarification, the typical private resident is usually charged $65 a ton to dump waste at the landfill, except during spring clean up. Contractors, like Harters, are charged $52.37 per ton.

Matt Habeck and Jessica Tlusty spoke at the Marathon County Board meeting on 4/28, requesting that the County waive ALL landfill fees for tornado victims, for 6 months during the clean up and rebuild process.

It was pointed out to the county board that the State of Wisconsin has waived their $13.10/ton portion of the landfill fee. Until June 17, 2026.

Ringle advised in a meeting on April 27 they would waive their $2.33/ton portion of the fee, (length of time not mentioned).

However, Marathon County will not waive their fee. Instead they reduced the fee until June 17, 2026 to give tornado victims the same rate they charge contract haulers. So the county gave tornado victims a $10.30/ton discount.

Very Disappointing as the County provided no debris cleaning assistance on the roads or private property.

The overall fee until June 17, 2026 will therefore be $36.94 per ton. If people have received a bill already, they should contact the County Landfill and request an adjustment to their bill.

County Meeting regarding landfill fees to tornado victims TONIGHT at 6pm at the Marathon County Courthouse!! Show up!

As you can see from the documentation available in the agenda packet, tonight marathon County board will be voting on the landfill fees to be charged to the Ringle residence for debris cleanup.

The attached documentation clearly says that the state of Wisconsin is waiving their fee completely. At the meeting last night, the Ringle board said Ringle is waiving their local fee.

BUT the county is voting to only reduce their fee.
THE COUNTY SHOULD WAIVE FEES Too!

The attachment say that the County will be "appropriately manage any applicable disaster, relief funding."
Which seems to indicate the County will be getting funds.

Please show up tonight at the meeting to tell the County Board to WAIVE their fee for at least 6 months, for residents listed as damaged by the tornado!!

6 pm TONIGHT Tues April 28!

🥹We were contacted to help spread the word on the continued volunteered support by some businesses offering excavation work. We didn’t know what that exactly meant at first as they aren’t wanting promotion, they just want to help.

📬Flyers for work needed are available for pick up at the school in a black mailbox and are being handed out. *please share with Ringle residents who may be in need.

🤯These businesses have been working for free around the clock to the point of the nearest gas station being sold out of diesel. ⛽️
In the weeks and months to come there will be a lot of little pieces to pick up so these businesses volunteering their time and equipment to handle the big pieces immediately is greatly appreciated!
➡️Please support our community by supporting these local business helping their neighbors.
