Following an investigation conducted by RGC Animal Control, a warrant was issued in connection with an alleged Theft of Livestock case.

Alejandro Hernandez was taken into custody in connection with the investigation.

RGC Animal Control remains committed to investigating violations of state and local laws and working to protect our community, property owners, and livestock.

*RGC Animal Control – Another Softshell Turtle Safely Relocated! *

RGC Animal Control responded to another wildlife call involving a softshell turtle!

We would like to thank the management at Border Town, located near Flores and Eisenhower Streets, for their assistance. After spotting the turtle in their parking lot, management carefully placed it in a crate and contacted our office for help.

Olmos Creek runs near the store, which may explain how the turtle made its way into the parking lot.

RGC Animal Control responded and safely relocated the turtle to a safe and more suitable habitat.

Thank you to the management at Border Town for looking out for our local wildlife and contacting us for assistance!

🚨🐾 RGC ANIMAL CONTROL – IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NOTICE 🐾🚨

RGC Animal Control is actively working in the areas of El Paseo Drive, Hermosa Street, and Gomez Street, where our officers have already picked up several roaming dogs.

⚠️ WE ARE SETTING UP HUMANE TRAPS IN THESE AREAS.
If you are a dog owner in these neighborhoods, PLEASE SECURE YOUR DOGS NOW! Do not allow your pets to roam freely through the streets.

* The traps and dog food being used will NOT hurt the animals. The traps are humane and are being used to safely contain roaming dogs so our officers can respond appropriately.

* If these are your dogs, it is your responsibility to keep them properly secured.

Allowing dogs to roam can put the animals, children, drivers, and other residents at risk. We need the cooperation of the community to address this ongoing problem.

* RGC Animal Control – Texas Indigo Snake Safely Relocated *

RGC Animal Control Officers safely apprehended a Texas Indigo Snake at Conchita’s Daycare, located in the 100 block of Main Street.

The snake had entered the outside portion of the building and was found in the water heater storage area. Thankfully, no one was hurt, and the snake did not pose a danger to the individuals or staff at the adult daycare.

Our officers safely secured the snake and relocated it to a suitable area away from the community. The Texas Indigo Snake is non-venomous and plays an important role in our local ecosystem.

We thank Conchita’s Daycare for contacting RGC Animal Control and allowing our officers to safely handle and relocate the snake.
