Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service was excited to join the Healthy Texas Youth Ambassadors (HTYA) at South Texas College – Starr County Campus for an energetic and fun-filled DanceFit Training led by Dr. Erica Reyes, Assistant Director of Healthy South Texas and Extension Program Specialist.

Our youth ambassadors learned how physical activity can be both enjoyable and beneficial through DanceFit, a program that combines easy-to-follow dance movements with fitness concepts to encourage active, healthy lifestyles. DanceFit helps participants improve cardiovascular health, coordination, confidence, and overall wellness while having fun with friends and family.

A special thank you to South Texas College–Starr County Campus for allowing us to use their facility and for supporting youth leadership and health education opportunities in our community. Your partnership helps make programs like these possible!

A huge thank you to Dr. Reyes for sharing her expertise and inspiring our ambassadors to stay active, lead by example, and bring healthy living opportunities back to their communities!
