🇲🇽🤝🇺🇸 RIO GRANDE CITY CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN OUR CROSS-BORDER RELATIONSHIP

The City of Rio Grande City was honored to attend the Segundo Informe de Gobierno 2026 of the Honorable Ayuntamiento de H. Camargo, Tamaulipas, hosted by Presidenta Municipal C. Ernestina Perales Ortiz.

Representing Rio Grande City were Tourism Director Roy Garza, Main Street Coordinator Cristina Vargas, and Rio Grande City Greater Chamber of Commerce President José Iván Rojas.

We extend our sincere congratulations to Presidenta Municipal Ernestina Perales Ortiz on the achievements and progress accomplished during her second year in office, and we thank her for the gracious invitation and warm hospitality extended to our Rio Grande City delegation.

It was also a special honor to be joined by the Governor of Tamaulipas, Dr. Américo Villarreal Anaya, whose presence made this important occasion even more meaningful.

Our communities share much more than a border—we share history, culture, commerce, friendship, and family ties. We remain committed to maintaining a strong relationship with our neighbors and brothers and sisters on the other side of the border and to continuing the collaboration that brings our communities closer together.

Lace up and join us for the Racing with Hope 5K & 1-Mile Fun Run on October 10 at 7 a.m. in City of Rio Grande City, Texas!

Whether you’re running the 5K or enjoying the one-mile fun run, come out for a great morning with our community. Registration is $30 per runner.

Highlights from La Ganadera Gourmet Meat Market Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

On Friday, September 4th the City of Rio Grande City, the RGC Economic Development Corporation and the Rio Grande City Greater Chamber of Commerce celebrated the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for La Ganadera Gourmet Meat Market in Rio Grande City, Texas.

The celebration was the culmination of the efforts by City of RGC officials and the Rio Grande City EDC to help facilitate efforts to bring this location of the already well established chain of gourmet meat markets from the mid valley to Rio Grande City.

On behalf of the Rio Grande City Commission, administration and staff, we would like to once again thank the owners of La Ganadera Gourmet Meat Market for choosing Rio Grande City, and wish the much success!

🇺🇸 9/11 RIO GRANDE CITY MEMORIAL STAIR CLIMB 🇺🇸

The online registration portal is now closed, but we’re excited to announce that in-person registration will be available tomorrow, Saturday, September 5th, beginning at 7:00 AM at Joe R. Sanchez Stadium.

We want to extend our heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has registered to participate in tomorrow’s Memorial Stair Climb. Your commitment to honoring and remembering those who gave everything is truly appreciated. ❤️🤍💙

A special thank you also goes to everyone listed on tomorrow’s program, as well as all of the organizations, first responders, veterans, volunteers, speakers, and supporters who have worked together to make this a meaningful and special event for our community. Thank you to our incredible team for all the hard work and long hours that went into planning this event.

We look forward to gathering tomorrow morning as we remember, honor, and never forget the lives lost and the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice.
