Have you taken our Citizen Survey yet? Every two years, the City of Rio Rancho conducts a Citizen Survey, which gauges citizen satisfaction, what community members believe city government is doing well, what are some opportunities for improvement, and to receive feedback about what kinds of initiatives community members would support.

The survey was sent this summer to 2,700 households throughout the City. Now's your chance to take the open participation portion of the survey, which is open to any Rio Rancho citizen and not weighted against scientifically valid results.

On Monday, May 31, the City of Rio Rancho will recognize Memorial Day with a remembrance ceremony honoring the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in military service to their country.

The ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial Park, and will begin at 10 a.m. The ceremony will include the laying of a wreath to honor the fallen.

Speakers will include Mayor of Rio Rancho Greggory D. Hull and various military personnel. Mayor Hull will pay special tribute to a veteran who volunteers for the City of Rio Rancho. While this event is open to the public, space is limited due to COVID-19-related restrictions. For those who would prefer a virtual option, the ceremony will be recorded and posted to the City of Rio Rancho’s YouTube channel after the event.

Military boots representing fallen service members will also be on display at Veterans Park. The boots will be laid out in military formation and will have a personalized portrait of a fallen veteran alongside each one. The boots representing fallen service members will be on display at Veterans Park as a powerful, temporary memorial. Both the memorial ceremony and boot display are organized by Rio Rancho's own Marine Corps League Detachment 1316, American Legion Post 118, VFW Post 5890, Women Veterans of New Mexico, and the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
