Now Accepting Applications for District 4 City Council Seat

Mayor Paul Wymer is seeking applicants to fill the vacant District 4 City Council seat

Applicants must meet the following requirements to be considered for the seat:

-Reside in Rio Rancho within the boundaries of District 4
-Be over 18 years of age
-Be a registered voter
-Have no felony convictions

The deadline to apply is Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 12 p.m. To apply or for more information about the seat, visit the City’s website at https://rrnm.gov/FormCenter/City-Administration-15/District-4-City-Councilor-Interest-Form-172

The individual appointed to fill the District 4 City Council seat will serve until the next regular 2028 municipal election.

City Manager Provides Recommended FY 27 Budget to Mayor and City Council

On April 15, 2026, City Manager Matt Geisel provided the Recommended Fiscal Year 2027 (FY 27) Budget for municipal government operations and services and the Capital Program (FY 27-31) to the Mayor and City Council in accordance with the City Charter. The FY 27 Budget spans July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

The FY 27 Recommended Budget and Capital Program can be viewed by visiting rrnm.gov/fy27budget.
