It is a pleasure to witness a business receiving $100,000 in ARPA funds from Sandoval County! From the left, County Commissioner Jay C. Block congratulates owners Sandy and Norm Ruth. Deluxe Design's business, pre-COVID, mainly came from events like festivals and concerts. With COVID putting a halt on these events, Deluxe Design pivoted to a new market through the Economic Gardening Program. These incredible business owners are entering the new year knowing they can overcome a pandemic! #RioRanchoStrong

Just another reason why our community is the best.

Athletics students at Rio Rancho High School were recently in the holiday spirit, as they helped the Rio Rancho Police Department with their annual toy drive. Every year, RRHS athletic teams work together to collect hundreds of toys for the Rio Rancho Police Department's Explorer Post 911 Program. The toys are then distributed to the children in our community at the RRPD's annual Christmas party. The picture below shows Ram athletes presenting the toys to School Resource Officer Chris Beck.

Great job RRHS athletes, we're so proud of you and glad to see you working to help your community!

Manufacturing Day is a national initiative that puts a spotlight on manufacturing. In New Mexico, it’s a month-long spotlight on New Mexico-made products and the more than 27,000 New Mexicans working in the manufacturing industry. It’s an opportunity to enhance public knowledge about the economic impact of manufacturing in our state, highlight resources, and introduce students to careers in manufacturing. Visit https://newmexicomep.org/ to start the celebration!

Our partners at Sandoval Economic Alliance invest in the community's future economy. Without them, our hard work at SEA would not be possible. We would like to recognize some partners who have renewed their memberships in August.

We had a Gold Quarterly Renewal for Don Chalmers Ford; Emerald Renewals for Excalibur Realty and Investments, the Greater Albuquerque Association of Realtors, and West Wood Realty; and Ruby Renewals for Capital CDC, Fat Pipe, New Mexico Bank and Trust, and Springer 5 Investments. We also welcomed First Financial Credit Union as our newest Ruby Partner. Thank you all for your active participation in Economic Development!

Great turnout for our September breakfast! Our CEO Fred Shepherd presents a lesson on why recruiting economic-based businesses in the community is important. Economic-based business brings money in from outside the community: This is called new money. The new money then circulates in our local economy and our local economy grows. SEA breakfasts are a perk for partners. Click the link to become a partner https://sea-nm.com/join/

Turtle Mountain Brewery Owner Nico Ortiz is the latest recipient of the Sandoval County Small Business Continuity Grant.
“I am surprised more businesses don’t apply for this grant,” Ortiz said. “This is the first time and the last time, certainly in my life-time, that the government will actually try to give you money.”
Ortiz said he considers this grant a return on his investment as a business owner and tax payer.
“I know the county has a lot of financial needs…but with this they are choosing to give it to businesses to help us support our employees and continue our operations,” he said.
This grant also covers qualified non-profits and sole proprietorships. To apply for the Small Business Continuity Grant go to: https://www.sandovalcountynm.gov/
