Sandoval County Public Works Department The Public Works Department manages the infrastructure that supports all county government operations. Landfill Hours: Monday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m.

The department handles maintenance and upkeep of all county facilities, as well as the county's vehicle fleet. The Sandoval County Solid Waste Division, which manages the county landfill and recycling center, also is part of the Public Works Department. The department also maintains the 3,170 miles of roads that fall within the county's jurisdiction. The road maintenance staff performs services ra

Sandoval County Public Works including the County Landfill
will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in observance of Memorial Day.
On this day, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸

Sandoval County Public Works is currently experiencing a disruption in phone and internet services. Due to this outage, we are unable to operate the landfill scale house.

As a result, the landfill will be closed for the remainder of the day on April 22, 2026.
