Our RRMFD REMS Team is currently assigned to the Yaqui Fire, supporting firefighter safety and emergency response operations on the incident. With Red Flag conditions, dry fuels, low humidity, and gusty winds across Southern Arizona, fire activity remains a serious concern this weekend.
A REMS Team — Rapid Extraction Module Support — is a specialized wildland resource dedicated to firefighter rescue and emergency response. Their mission is to rapidly locate, treat, and extract injured or trapped firefighters during mayday or emergency situations on the fireline. REMS personnel train extensively in firefighter rescue, technical rescue, extrication, medical care, communications, and operating in challenging terrain and fire conditions.
While suppression crews work the fire, the REMS Team stands ready as a critical safety resource protecting those operating on the line. Proud of our personnel representing the Double-R and supporting our regional partners on the incident. Stay safe and STRONG work out there.
