Meet our red shirt Bailey. We caught her pulling some hose off the engine, training hard, no shortcuts.

Bailey will be the third female full time firefighter currently active in our department and she’s already proving she belongs here.

She's only a few weeks away from attending the Phoenix Fire Academy and we can't wait to get her back on the trucks ready to go. Good luck Bailey!

🚒 ALERT: The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation is burning piles of wood debris today (3/20/26) and likely over the next few days. You might notice some smoke in the air or small puffs of smoke passing through the southeast corner of Rio Verde.

Don't worry, it's all part of their routine maintenance to reduce wildfire risk and clear out debris from the groves. Don't be alarmed if you see this and, as always, let us know if you have any questions.

The crews at the Rio Verde fire stations would like to thank the local community members that got together on Valentine's Day and created all the amazing desserts and treats for us as well as the abundance of gift cards which were extremely generous! We are grateful for all of it!

The support from our community is always cherished and we appreciate everything you all do for us! If you see us around, stop and say hi, we'd love to hear an experience with us if you have one!
