September is almost here, and we have lots of exciting events and programs happening at the library this month!

🐾 September 2: Meet and Greet with Millie

🧱 September 10: LEGO Club resumes after school
📖 September 16: Storytime returns with Jon
📕 September 19: Read to Millie — check with staff to sign up!

We’re also excited to welcome our new employee, who will be starting next week. Be sure to say hello and help us welcome them!

🍁 The Fall Rio Reads is kicking off! We'll hand out our Rio Reads book on September 9. We can’t wait to get everyone reading together this fall!

It’s going to be a busy and fun September, and we look forward to seeing everyone at one of our programs. Come join us at the library—we can’t wait to see you! 💛📚

We’re excited to welcome Doug Bradley on September 9 at 6 PM for “We Gotta Get Out of This Place.”

Bradley will explore the popular music at the heart of the American experience in Vietnam. History buffs, veterans, and music lovers alike will enjoy this fascinating program that connects the music of an era with the experiences of those who lived through it.

Join us for an evening of history, music, and stories you won’t want to miss!

We had an amazing summer here at the Rio Community Library! We saw a whale, met a chinchilla, explored science, and read lots of books. Our lunch crew served up tasty meals, and the desserts were delicious.

In addition to all of the fun during our Summer Reading Program, our library also received some exciting upgrades. Thanks to the Village of Rio, our parking lot and concrete were updated, and we now have a beautiful new steel roof.

Thank you to everyone who helped make 2026 the best summer ever at the Rio Community Library. We appreciate your support and can't wait to see you again soon!
