A huge thank you goes out to the Jackson County Board of Education for unanimously supporting our joint WVEA/AFT-WV PEIA Stabilization Resolution at tonight's Board meeting. Thank you for allowing Jackson County Education Association president Adena Barnette-Miller to speak about the resolution and the major issues facing our educational employees, along with state and county employees, and our retirees.

JCEA President Adena Barnette-Miller addresses the Board of Education to garner support for our PEIA Resolution. The cost of PEIA coverage is on schedule to dramatically increase next year, prohibitively for many employees. The state is able to stabilize PEIA, and we resolve to encourage WV to priorotize the health of its employees moving forward.

It was a great night!

Your Jackson County Education Association and AFT-Jackson joined forces to hold a pre-Hatchet game tailgate tonight. We had a great showing of educators and their families.

A huge thanks to our local leaders, WVEA president Dale Lee and AFT-WV President Fred Albert, and members of the Jackson County Board of Education for coming out to join us!

Way to go, Jackson County 💙❤️.

Our JCEA leadership team and rank and file members met to eat lunch, complete our association rep training, and plan for the upcoming school year. We took time to celebrate our successes; we met our 2023-2024 membership goals and showed membership growth.

We've planned some exciting activities for the upcoming school year. Stay tuned!
