Celebrate 250 Years of America at the TN250 Festival in Henning!
History, heritage, culture, and community will come together for a very special celebration on Saturday, August 22, 2026, as Lauderdale County welcomes visitors to the TN250 Festival on Choctaw Tribal Lands in Henning, Tennessee.
With the theme “Honoring Our Heritage • Celebrating Our Future,” the TN250 Festival is more than an event—it is an opportunity to recognize the people, traditions, and stories that have shaped our community while joining Tennessee in commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.
A Celebration of Choctaw Heritage
Lauderdale County has a rich and diverse history, and the TN250 Festival will proudly highlight the heritage and traditions of the Choctaw people. Guests will have the opportunity to experience traditional dances, drumming, storytelling, artisan demonstrations, cultural programs, and authentic food.
The festival is designed to bring people together to learn, celebrate, and gain a greater appreciation for the history and culture that remain an important part of our region.
Something for Everyone
Beginning at 9:00 a.m., festivalgoers can enjoy a full day of activities, including:
Choctaw cultural demonstrations and programs
Traditional dancing and drumming
Storytelling and artisan demonstrations
Authentic Choctaw and Native American food
Arts, crafts, jewelry, and unique merchandise from vendors

Activities celebrating Tennessee and America's 250th anniversary
The celebration will continue into the evening with a special concert by Triston Harper at 7:00 p.m.
Proudly Choctaw. Proudly Tennessee.
One of the most meaningful parts of this event is the partnership behind it. The TN250 Festival represents organizations and individuals coming together to celebrate the history of our area and share it with visitors from across Tennessee and beyond.
The festival is presented with the support and partnership of the Tennessee Choctaw Development Club, Tennessee America 250, West Tennessee Bluffs & Bottoms, Lauderdale Chamber Economic & Community Development, Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, Pearl River Resort, and other community partners.
Events like this are especially important to rural communities. They create opportunities for tourism, support vendors and small businesses, introduce visitors to our communities, preserve important traditions, and give the next generation an opportunity to learn about the people and events that helped shape the place we call home.
