Captain Jamie Hart and Patrolman Zach Knepshield visited Ripley elementary students for their water fun day. Capt. Hart got into the dunk tank, and a long line of students quickly formed, as everyone wanted a chance to dunk the policeman.

Ripley Police Department WV will be stopping traffic at 6pm this evening for the Ripley High School Senior Parade. Parade route will be from Walmart Ripley - Academy Dr to Ripley High School. Please plan ahead and come out to support the RHS Senior Class!

Tonight at the wall of Fame Ceremony for Police Week our very own Rick Cain was honored. Also, Officer of the Year went to Ben Smith along with Jamie Hart receiving a promotion to the rank of Captain and Brian Anderson receiving a promotion to Deputy Chief. Big thanks to Sheriff Mellinger, Eric Cullen and their crew for putting this on every year.

Traffic Notice

The Tunnel to Towers 5K run will take place on May 9, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM. The course will be along the Avenues and Charleston Drive. We request that vehicle traffic avoid the area if possible for the safety of the participants.

This Saturday is national drug take back day. Bring any medication that needs disposed of. This year there was a last minute change of plans. Ripley drop off point will be at Krogers.
