My name is David Benjamin I am the current Chief of Police in Aberdeen Ohio. I have been a police officer for 30 years, born and raised in Brown County. I have also served as the Pastor of the Aberdeen Main Cross Church for the past 3 years. and Southern Hills JVS, I continued my education by receiving 2 Associates Degrees from Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio. I was an officer for the Ripley

Police Department for 10 years, 7 as a Lieutenant and 5 as a K-9 handler. During my career, I have worked hundreds of drug investigations, involving all types of narcotics. I was a candidate for the position of Brown County Sheriff in 2016 and I see clearly now that it was not the proper time for me. I know I am prepared and ready for the challenges that I will face and feel confident in facing them head on. I lead by example, never afraid to take on any duty I need to perform. As the Chief of Aberdeen, I have kept a balanced budget, been vigilant against our drug problem, and succeeded in growing a strong relationship with our citizens through numerous events and programs. I feel 3 major needs are employee retention, operations of the jail and proactive law enforcement. I want to thank you for your time, may God bless you and your family.
