🚨 TRAFFIC ALERT: Upcoming 12-Day Closure & Delays on VT Route 125 🚨
A major culvert replacement project is kicking off on VT Route 125 (approx. 3.4 miles east of the U.S. Route 7 intersection). Drivers should prepare for upcoming single-lane closures and a full 12-day road closure later this month.
🛑 12-Day Full Road Closure
• When: Monday, July 27 (7 AM) through Friday, August 7 (6 PM).
• Detour: VT 125 will be fully closed at the work site. A signed regional detour will direct traffic via U.S. 7, VT 73, and VT 100. 👉 LOCAL RIPTON TRAFFIC will still have access to North Branch Road. 👈
• Stay tuned: Final confirmation and details about this closure will be shared this Monday, July 13.
📅 Next Week's Prep Schedule (Expect Delays)
Before the full closure, crews are mobilizing to set up erosion controls and stream diversions:
• Monday: Crews will be on the shoulders of the detour routes to install electronic message boards.
• Tuesday – Friday (6 AM – 6 PM): Flaggers will direct traffic through single-lane closures in the work zone.
🏗️ Project Timeline: Final construction is expected to be fully completed by September 18, 2026.
🚦 Driver Tip: Please slow down through the work zone, watch for flaggers, and plan for extra travel time once the detour is active!
