Rising Star Fire Department Rising Star Fire Department represents the brave men and women that put their lives on the line day in and day out for the citizens of the Rising Star.

The Rising Star Fire Dept. founded in 1942, serves a total square mileage area of 225 square miles. This service area includes the community of and area around Rising Star. Our department is made up of 17 members. These men and women make a conscious choice to be servants. Whenever and wherver the need arises, they respond willingly on each and every occasion. The RSVFD members render mutal aid to

The Department receives limited funding from the county, which servces to defray fuel and basic maintenance cost. The remaining burden of financing our operations fall on donations and grant monies. We welcome any and all donations. No AMOUNT is to small. Every cent of support is genuinely and humbly appreciated by each of your members. ⚠️ Very High to Extreme Fire Danger on Thursday

The Texas A&M Forest Service has forecasted a Very High to Extreme risk for grass fires and wildfires in North Texas this Thursday, August 13. Drought conditions continue to build due high temperatures and lack of rain. On Thursday in particular, winds are projected to peak around 20-25mph throughout the day with low humidity levels, increasing the risk for fires.

Please be extra cautious on Thursday, and call 9-1-1 immediately if you spot a fire.

RSVFD extends our sincere thanks to the Eastland County Sheriff and the Officers who answered our call for help today. Our responders answered what they expected to be a routine medical call and walked into a dangerous situation. Thankfully an officer responded promptly and was quickly backed up by two more. We can count on that help in the City as long as the City maintains a contract with Eastland County to provide law enforcement. All of us remember what it was like when there was no law enforcement, and we don’t want to go back to those days. Please thank the City Council members who voted for that contract and encourage them to continue it. We are trained in handling fire and medical emergencies, not in law enforcement, and sometimes we need help.
