Rising Sun Sunfest and Sunfest Parade

Saturday, June 6, 2026

PARADE -

Start time 9:00am

Location and roads affected: parade begins in the Colonial Way end of the Rising Sun Town Center. West on E. Main St. through the center of town onto W. Main St. turn right on to Cooper Ave. and end at Rising Sun MiDdle School.

FESTIVAL-

Start time - at the conclusion of the parade
End time - 4:00 pm

Road closure-
N. Queen St., Pearl St., E. Main St between N. Queen St. and S. Walnut St.

No Parking - N. Queen St Municipal Parking Lot, E.Main St. S. Queen St.

Use caution while driving in the area. High pedestrian traffic throughout town.

Traffic Controls and Detours will be in place

Date: Sunday, May 10th, 2026
Time: approximately 3 pm

On Sunday, May 10th, 2026, Chapter IX of the Police Unity Tour will travel eastbound along MD Rt 273 through the town of Rising Sun. The Police Unity Tour consists of cyclists riding from Philadelphia, Pa., in honor of fallen law enforcement officers. Rolling traffic controls will be in place. The cyclist group will move at a brisk pace, so traffic delays and detours will be limited.

Please feel free to greet the group, but do not impede their movement.

🚧 STREET PAVING NOTICE – WEEK OF APRIL 21–24 🚧

The Town of Rising Sun will be completing street paving work next week. Please plan accordingly for temporary parking and traffic disruptions.

⚠️ NO SIDE STREET PARKING DURING PAVING

🗓 Tentative Schedule:
Tuesday (April 21):
• Mount Street – from Pogue Avenue to Keppels Mill

Wednesday & Thursday (April 22–23):
• Spring House Court
• Meadow Valley Drive
• Meadow Court

Friday (April 24):
• Walnut Street – from 15 N. Walnut Street to N. Queen Street

Please move vehicles off affected streets during paving operations to avoid delays and ensure crews can complete the work efficiently.
