🏛️ **City Hall Tuckpointing Project – Phase 2 Underway!**
If you’ve noticed some work happening around City Hall, we’re currently in Phase 2 of a multi-phase tuckpointing project designed to preserve and protect the building for years to come.
Work completed so far has included repairs to the fireplace chimney, the front wall, and the staff entrance, and we’re continuing to work our way around the building in phases.
Tuckpointing involves repairing and replacing deteriorated mortar between bricks. It may not be the most glamorous improvement, but it’s an important part of preventing water intrusion, protecting the brickwork, and avoiding much more costly repairs down the road.
We know it’s important for residents to see how their tax dollars are being invested in the community. Projects like this are part of the City’s ongoing effort to responsibly maintain the buildings, infrastructure, parks, and other assets our residents have already invested in.
📸 **Take a look at the before-and-after photos!** The difference may be in the details, but those details go a long way toward protecting the building.
Sometimes good government looks like budgets, ordinances, and meetings...and sometimes it looks like fresh mortar! 😄
We’ll continue working through the remaining phases to keep City Hall in good condition and protect this community asset for years to come.
