Their continued investment in Suffolk County reflects the strength of our local business community and the bright future of innovation and economic growth here at home.

We had a wonderful and successful Arbor Day celebrating our Planting It Forward initiative! 🌱🌳

Thank you to Shoreham-Wading River Elementary School for hosting the County Clerk and County Executive as we had the opportunity to speak with students about the importance of giving back, protecting our environment, and getting involved in their community.

It was inspiring to see so many young people excited to make a difference—together, we’re planting the seeds for a greener future!

The community came together last week to attend the ribbon cutting for Live on the Porch in Smithtown, an exciting new venue bringing live music back to an intimate, community-focused setting. 🎶

Inspired by Mike DelGuidice’s popular performances, this space will showcase incredible talent ranging from singer-songwriters to comedy and more, all in a unique up-close environment.

Wishing Mike and everyone involved great success as this new chapter begins Suffolk County’s arts scene just got even stronger!

Today, on Arbor Day, we’re proud to kick off Planting It Forward—a meaningful initiative to grow our community’s legacy for generations to come 🌱🌳

Residents can visit participating Suffolk County parks to pick up a tree and plant it in honor or memory of someone special. Each tree can be registered to receive a commemorative certificate, with its dedication preserved in a permanent record at the Suffolk County Clerk’s Office.

We also encourage those who prefer to support local to purchase a tree from a neighborhood nursery, plant it, and register it as part of this countywide effort.

Together, we’re not just planting trees—we’re planting history, remembrance, and a lasting legacy 🌿

“The greatest threat to our planet is the belief that someone else will save it” - Robert Swan

Earth day reminds us that real change doesn’t come from waiting on others, it starts with each of us taking responsibility for our actions, our communities, and our future. Leadership begins at the individual level.

County Executive Ed Romaine held a press conference this week where he highlighted the Planting It Forward initiative as part of Suffolk County’s 250th Anniversary celebration.

In partnership with the Suffolk County Clerk’s Office, 2,500 trees will be distributed at County parks, giving residents the opportunity to plant a living legacy in honor of this historic milestone. Each tree can be registered and dedicated, with those dedications preserved in the Clerk’s Office archives in perpetuity—ensuring they remain a lasting part of Suffolk County’s history.
