Today I attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Riverhead Town Square. I’m proud of the Town Board and Supervisor Hubbard for sticking together throughout this process, and making real progress here for the residents of Riverhead.

This sentiment was echoed from New York State Secretary of State Mosley, a representative from Senator Schumer’s office, State Senator Anthony Palumbo and Assemblywoman Giglio, showing the bipartisan support for this project.

Riverhead can only benefit from this, and I’m glad to see it brought to fruition.

Last night was a wonderful kickoff to the holiday season at the annual Big Duck Lighting! It was great to join County Executive Ed Romaine and so many families as we celebrated this beloved tradition. Thank you to everyone who came out to keep this community spirit shining bright.

This morning I attended the Riverhead Rotary’s pancake breakfast with some of my colleagues in government.

Always nice to be in the community, talking to constituents and seeing so many people I grew up with in Riverhead along with some new faces.

Today I hosted my 4th Veteran Expo, this time at Greenwood Village with Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine. It was great to see so many veterans and residents come and hear from these fantastic organizations, and representatives from our county departments.

As a member of the Veteran Committee, I take veteran services very seriously, and ai am proud to help bring resources straight to veterans and their communities.

Last night I attended the REMSCO EMS Awards to celebrate and recognize the dedicated first responders who serve our communities every day. Their commitment, courage, and compassion make all the difference in times of need. Congratulations to all the honorees and thank you for your outstanding service!

This morning I attended the Operating Budget Working Group, making sure that the funds in Suffolk County are being spent responsibly. This includes the Water Quality Protection and Restoration Program fund, Cultural Funding, and so much more.

Thank you to our Budget Review Office for their hard work on putting this presentation together, and answering some questions I had this morning.

Sadden to hear the news coming out of San Simeon today.

Suffolk Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services is on site, along with the New York State Department of Health, and the local Southold Police Department.

I am in constant contact with Commissioner Sunderman about updates on the situation.

If anyone has questions about loved ones, please contact San Simeon directly.

Today I joined County Executive Ed Romaine, Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina, and Deputy Commissioner Thomas Galati as they announced the Suffolk County Police Department’s newest counterterrorism initiatives. With Deputy Commissioner Galati’s extensive experience as New York City’s former Chief of Counterterrorism and Intelligence, Suffolk County is strengthening its efforts to stay ahead of evolving security threats. I’m grateful for the dedication of our law enforcement professionals who work every day to keep our communities safe.

Last night, after attending the SCWA Public Hearing in Peconic, I went over to Flanders to talk with community members on development in Riverside and other issues they face. Their concerns are my concerns, and I’ll be working on all the questions they presented to me last night.

This morning I had the opportunity to join the Long Island Contractors’ Association for their annual Legislative Breakfast. I appreciated the chance to connect with industry leaders and discuss the critical infrastructure needs facing our region. By working together, we can ensure that our roads, bridges, and communities are safe, resilient, and prepared for the future. Thank you to LICA for hosting this important conversation.

Today I joined County Executive Ed Romaine, Legislator Dominick Thorne, and my colleagues as we signed the “Board-Up Bill” into law. This important measure will protect homeowners and consumers from predatory practices during times of hardship, ensuring fairness and accountability. I was proud to speak in support of this legislation and thank Legislator Thorne for leading the way.
