RIVERHEAD’S MADISON MARSHAK PLACES SECOND AT GIRLS GOLF COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

Riverhead High School sophomore girls golfer Madison Marshak recently captured second place at the 36-hole Suffolk County championship tournament. She shot a tournament-best 77 at Pine Hills Golf and Country Club and solidified a second-place finish to earn another trip to the state championship tournament. Last season, Madison and class of 2025 graduate Angelina Gust became the first Riverhead girls golfers to qualify for the state tournament.

RIVERHEAD’S DWAYNE MORGAN VICTORIOUS AT COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS

Riverhead High School senior Dwayne Morgan was named the Section XI class A county champion in the 110-meter hurdles and earned another place in the Blue Wave record books. His outstanding time of 14.62 seconds broke the school record. The district congratulates Dwayne on this amazing accomplishment!

The Riverhead Central School District has celebrated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month throughout May. Students have learned about vibrant Asian American and Pacific Islander cultures, impactful figures and their achievements, and rich histories.

RIVERHEAD SELECTED AS BEST COMMUNITIES FOR MUSIC EDUCATION SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW

For the fourth year in a row, the Riverhead Central School District has been awarded the Best Communities for Music Education designation from the NAMM Foundation. This prestigious national recognition honors school districts for their leadership in advancing music education and expanding equitable access to critical arts instructions.

Riverhead was selected for this designation based on detailed answers regarding its music programming, including music education participation rates, music education electives, teacher-to-student ratios, music facilities, budget support for music programs, music education and/or fine arts graduation requirements, teacher qualifications, student demographics, and standards for assessment.

RIVERHEAD HOSTS ANNUAL ART IN ACTION EXHIBITION

Please join us for our annual districtwide Art in Action exhibition. This community event is dedicated to showcasing the incredible talents of our students throughout the Riverhead Central School District. Art in Action will take place at Riverhead High School on Friday, May 15th, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Guests may enter through the auditorium and gymnasium entrances located at the back of the school. We look forward to celebrating our students and sharing this special evening with the community!
