Yesterday, I traveled to the State Capitol with my fellow California Big City Mayors to advocate for Proposition 1, a pivotal opportunity to expand affordable housing, create pathways to homeownership for first-time buyers, support California’s veterans, and invest in communities across our state.

As Chair of Big City Mayors, I am proud to lead the support of bi-partisan solutions that give our cities the tools and resources to address one of the most pressing challenges facing our residents.

We also met with former U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra to discuss how California's cities are working to address homelessness, increase housing production, expand access to behavioral health and build economic opportunity.

Our advocacy may take us to Sacramento, but the work is always about delivering results back home in Riverside.

It was a great morning with Riverside Latino Network!

I had the opportunity to share an update on our continued work on housing and homelessness, economic development, community engagement, and advocating for Riverside at the regional, state, and federal levels.

Thank you to the Riverside Latino Network for bringing together leaders from across our community and for the important role you continue to play in strengthening connections and fostering collaboration. And a special thank you to Zacatecas for hosting us!

Today we celebrated a major milestone for the Dell Roberts Gymnasium with its topping-out ceremony, marking the placement of the final steel beam!

I was proud to join our community in celebrating this exciting step forward and the opportunities this new facility will create. More than a building, this gymnasium will be a place for our community to come together, connect, and grow for generations to come.

A special thank you to Dell and Carmen Roberts for championing this project and advocating for a space that will serve and strengthen our community for years to come. We can’t wait to see you on the courts!

We're putting potholes on notice. 👀🛣️

In 2025, our Street Maintenance team filled 1,700+ potholes and paved nearly 50 miles of roads and the work continues. We’re taking a proactive approach to keep our roads in better shape and help avoid more costly repairs down the road.

See a pothole? Report it through 311.

Great meeting with California Secretary for Natural Resources Wade Crowfoot to discuss Riverside’s future.

From advancing our efforts to make Riverside a leading green technology hub to our bold initiative to put the river back in Riverside, we’re building a city that embraces innovation while protecting and restoring our natural resources.

Thanks for stopping by Wade!

Housing alone won't solve homelessness. It takes safety, partnerships, prevention and investment, the city's four-part approach.

Great joining leaders from across Southern California at LACI Road to 2028 Summit to discuss climate resilience and preparing our communities for rising heat.

In Riverside, we’re taking action by expanding our planting trees to cool our neighborhoods, opening cooling centers during extreme heat, and investing in innovative projects like the Northside Agriculture Innovation Center.

Together, we’re building a healthier, stronger, and more climate-ready future. 🌳☀️
