Good morning Murrieta,

Did you know, since 1775 an estimated 1,308,000 men and women have given their lives. Over time, united from all 50 states and territories around the globe our diverse service members have fought to protect our people and our democracy.

In 1865, Memorial Day became the day we set aside in unity honoring the courageous military men and women who gave their lives in service, protecting all of us and our way of life so we can enjoy our Constitutional freedoms. Differences didn’t matter when the call to duty resounded; they answered it. Fighting, side by side, they trusted each other. They trusted that liberty and justice for all would continue to guide our nation as a beacon of hope for all.

Please as you spend the time-off with your family and friends take a moment to thank the families whose loved ones are no longer able to sit at the dinner table because of their ultimate sacrifice they gave for our freedoms.

Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial start of summer. If your holiday plans include water, make sure you have a safety plan.

Designate a Water Watcher.

Ensure life jackets are worn in open water.

Keep a phone nearby for emergencies only.

I truly enjoyed attending tonight’s production of “Much Ado About Nothing” presented by Warm Springs Middle School! Directed by Carol Hernandez and John Edward Clark. These kids are extremely talented. What an honor it was to attend. Congratulations to everyone who made tonight possible.

Please join us in congratulating Murrieta Fire & Rescue Paramedics Wyatt Barnard and Jeremy Spiker!

These two just took 3rd Place in a grueling, statewide Paramedic Competition. They went head-to-head against 11 elite teams from across California, pushing through an arduous, two-day skills challenge that tested their advanced life support knowledge, clinical skills, and decision-making under intense pressure.

We couldn’t be prouder of their dedication, expertise, and the outstanding way they represented our department and community on the state stage. Outstanding work, gentlemen!

This evening, myself, my family and our city council had the honor to attend the 10th Anniversary Gala of MilVet. It was a wonderful celebration and there will never be enough words to express how grateful I am for the incredible dedication and heart shown by Raven Hilden and her team everyday for all they have done to serve our active military and veteran families. Congratulations on this 10th Anniversary. What you do everyday truly matters. Thank you so much Raven!

It’s amazing how much can be accomplished in less than 48 hours but when you have a tight schedule of meetings you find a way to make it a productive trip to advocate for RTA as the First Vice Chair with meetings on the hill all day yesterday then ending at 5pm as your Murrieta City Council Member with a meeting at the Department of Transportation with the FHA!
