Sierra Club, San Gorgonio Political Subcommittee Raising environmental consciousness and advancing sustainable practices.

The objective of this subcommittee is to evaluate, interview and select viable candidates in our region of San Bernardino/ Riverside county for a Sierra Club endorsement for this year's State Senate and Congressional elections. We also function to promote increased participation in the democratic process across the board. This subcommittee is pioneering the very first youth-driven Sierra Club endo

rsement within the Inland Valley, so this is an exciting journey for our group to embark on! Our region suffers from one of the worst environmental conditions in the nation -especially in terms of our air quality (we have the worst PPM levels, they had to create a new color for us on the air quality map!). It is imperative that we choose to endorse political candidates that are conscious of our local environmental issues so that policy can fall in line with solutions, rather than add to the growing problem.
