🏫✨ Out & About in Alvord!

Today, Superintendent Dr. Reginald Thompkins and Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services Dr. Kelley Gelzleichter enjoyed visiting several of our schools!

They stopped by Valley View Elementary, where Principal Dr. Rosa Gomez welcomed them as they checked out the amazing Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program in action. They also visited Loma Vista Middle School with Principal Dr. Malcolm Heron and Arlanza Elementary with Principal Rabia Minhas.

A great day seeing our students and staff in action across Alvord! 💙📚

🌟 Back-to-School Night at Hillcrest & Alvord High School! 🌟

Last night was a great evening connecting with our students, families, and staff at Hillcrest High School and Alvord High School! Thank you to Trustee Carolyn M. Wilson, Trustee Norma O. Berrellez, and Trustee Amanda Vasquez for coming out and supporting our school communities.

The ribbon cutting at La Sierra High School’s new field was a historic moment, but the best part was seeing the excitement, pride, and joy of our Eagles as they officially stepped into their new home! 🏟️✂️

A special moment and a memory our La Sierra community will cherish for years to come. Go Eagles! 🦅

🦅🏈 A NIGHT TO REMEMBER FOR OUR EAGLES! 🏈🦅

History was made at La Sierra High School! Friday night wasn’t just the first official game in the Eagles’ new stadium—it was a night filled with unforgettable FIRSTS!

🎀 First Ribbon Cutting
🏈 First Kickoff Return
📣 First Cheer Performance
🎶 First Band Performance
🏆 And most importantly… the FIRST OFFICIAL WIN in La Sierra field!

Our Eagles brought it home with an incredible 50–31 VICTORY! And check out that one-handed catch for a HUGE touchdown! 🔥🙌

Before kickoff, our Girls Flag Football players were also recognized, making the evening even more special!

Superintendent Dr. Reginald Thompkins was there to celebrate this historic night alongside Principal Dr. Cherilynne Hollowell and her AP team, Board President Georgina Ramirez, and Trustees Julie A. Moreno, Carolyn M. Wilson, and Amanda Vasquez.

We were also excited to welcome Riverside City Councilmember Luis Hernandez to the game! Thank you, Councilmember Hernandez, for joining us and supporting our Eagles on this very special night! 🦅👏

A huge thank you to our Board of Education, elected officials, community members who supported Measure J, staff, students, families, and everyone who helped make this beautiful new field a reality.

What a way to open a new chapter at La Sierra! The field is new, the memories are already being made, and our Eagles are SOARING! 🦅💙🏈

Dr. Thompkins is back at it again, out visiting our schools and seeing our amazing teachers in action! 🍎📚

Today, he stopped by Twinhill Elementary School with Board President Georgina Ramirez and Dr. Kelley Gelzleichter to visit classrooms, connect with students and staff, and see the great learning happening across campus.

We love seeing our Alvord educators doing what they do best—supporting, inspiring, and empowering our students every day! 💙
