Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. 🇺🇸

We are incredibly proud of our Ames Boy and Girl Scouts who participated in a flag ceremony at the invitation of the Ames Student Council. Thank you to these young leaders for helping our school community reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day with such respect and patriotism.

Wishing all of our Ames families a meaningful Memorial Day as we remember and honor those who served. ❤️🤍💙

We’re still not over yesterday’s Ames Talent Show 🌟✨ — and we have these three incredible parent volunteers to thank for helping make it such a fun, memorable, and smoothly run event for our students and families! 💙🐬

A HUGE thank you to Barbie Hickey, Kelly Rehmer, and Emma Cox for the countless hours they dedicated behind the scenes organizing auditions, coordinating rehearsals, supporting performers, managing logistics, and helping bring the entire show to life. Their hard work, energy, patience, and dedication helped create such a special experience for our Ames students to shine on stage. 🎤👏

Thank you for all you did to make this year’s talent show such an incredible success — Ames is lucky to have you! ✨

🥪😎 How YOU doin’? 😎🥪

Day 2 of Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week brought the Joey Tribbiani energy with our “How You Doin’?” sandwich lunch!

A huge thank you to Opportunity Knocks in River Forest for catering today’s delicious meal for our incredible Ames staff ❤️👏

We were especially excited to partner with an organization whose mission centers around building a more inclusive community where people of all abilities can live, work, learn, grow, and thrive. Opportunity Knocks believes communities are strongest when everybody is included — and we’re proud to support that mission. 💙

While Joey may not share food… the AmesPTA was happy to share sandwiches with our incredible faculty and staff😄🥪

☕️The One with the Central Perk!

We officially kicked off Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week by turning the teachers’ lounge into our very own Central Perk ☕️✨

Featuring a cozy coffee bar from .1 Drip Coffee and a delicious spread of donuts & pastries from Crumb Crushers 🍩 — the perfect way to start the week with a morning cup of Joe 😉

And don’t worry… Gunther definitely covered this shift ☕️😄 (because we all know it wasn’t Rachel on coffee duty today!)

Because our teachers keep everything brewing, energize our kids every day, and pour so much into this community — and today, it was our turn to pour a little back into them ❤️☕️

This year, we’re going full Friends mode for The One Where They Are Appreciated — because our teachers and staff have always been there for us! 👏🍎✨

Here’s what’s happening next week:

☕️ Monday: Welcome to Central Perk! Drip Coffee will be on-site serving coffee & refreshments, plus bagels and donuts from Crumb Crushers 🍩
🥪 Tuesday: How YOU doin’? Opportunity Knocks is delivering sandwiches for the staff ❤️
🥤 Wednesday: We were on a break! Dirty Soda Bar + Kit Kat treats inspired by everyone’s favorite line 😆
🌮 Thursday: Pivot! Pivot! Pivot! to the staff lounge for fajitas, elotes, and mocktail margaritas 🌮🍹
💐 Friday: He’s her lobster! Gifts, raffles, and a flower bar so staff can make beautiful bouquets 🌸
