John W. North High School

John W. North High School The school was named after John Wesley North, the founder of Riverside and the Riverside Unified School District. J.W.

North is home to approximately 2,400 students. The school mascot is the "Husky" and the school colors are blue and gold. The school offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma, IB Middle Years Program, Advanced Placement course, Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), Education & Human Services Academy, Global Business & Information Technology Academy, and Law Enforcement & Protective Services Academy.

A huge shout-out to Chris Claiborne, JW North Class of 1996! Chris will be inducted into the inaugural class of the California High School Football Hall of Fame, which recognizes the top football players in the state who have excelled at the high school, college and professional level. Chris led Husky Football to an undefeated season and our first CIF football championship in 1995. Congrats, Chris!!
