CBK Spotlight!
CBK would like to Spotlight Alexis F., a senior from our Rubidoux Youth Opportunity Center CBK site. Her favorite CBK memory? A simple but meaningful moment — a last day of school pizza party where everyone shared something they were proud of. That moment reminded her how far she’d come and gave her hope for the year ahead.

Since joining CBK, she’s grown in confidence and learned that her path is valid, no matter her age or timeline. When asked if there was a defining moment for her in her journey, Alexis said, “ I realized I wasn’t just trying to get through school anymore. Instead, I was actually working toward something I cared about. That’s when it felt real. That’s when I knew I was ready, not just academically, but mentally too.”
A huge part of that growth came from her teacher, Dr. Thomas, who supported her from day one and saw her potential long before she saw it in herself. That impact inspired her future: she’s officially committed to Whittier College, where she’ll major in Child Development and Education, with hopes of becoming a teacher — one who shows up for her students the way her teacher showed up for her.

CBK is proud of you, Alexis, for rewriting your story, pushing past fear, and finding the courage to build knowledge. It’s never too late to become who you’re meant to be! Congratulations! 🩵💛

• Rehearsal starts promptly at 4:15 PM
• Come already dressed in your gown
• Bring only essentials—there is no storage area available
• Plan ahead for traffic and parking

📍 Riverside Convention Center - 3637 5th Street, Riverside, CA
🕕 Ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 PM
🚪 Door open for families at 5:00 PM

• Don’t forget your tickets
• Clear bags only
• No balloons permitted inside the convention center
• Security screening will take place upon entry

Today, we celebrate three incredible educators whose impact on CBK will be felt for years to come. As they step into retirement, we honor their dedication, their compassion, and the countless lives they’ve shaped along the way.

Each of these teachers has poured their heart into our students — offering guidance, encouragement, and unwavering belief in every learner who walked through their doors. Their classrooms became safe spaces. Their words became motivation. Their presence became a source of stability and hope.

Their legacy lives on in:
