With heavy hearts, the City of Riverside mourns the passing of former Officer C.A. “Chris” Crissler.

During his time with Riverside Police Department, Officer Crissler served with honor, dedication, and commitment to the Riverside community. His continued service and dedication as a K-9 officer made him a valuable resource not only to our department, but to agencies throughout the county.

He will be remembered not only for his work in uniform, but also for his wit, his caring nature, and the way he touched the lives of those around him. His passing is met with sadness and remembrance by those who served alongside him and by all who knew him.

Please keep his family, loved ones, and fellow officers in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

We honor his life, his service, and the memories he leaves behind. #310

**OUTDATED POST**
ALDOT will close a lane of the I-20 WB bridge over the Coosa River in Riverside on Thursday, October 2, for up to seven days. ALDOT encourages westbound (toward Birmingham from Oxford) passenger cars and truck loads wider than ten feet to utilize US Hwy-78 W at Exit 165 as an alternate free-flowing route. The US-78 bridge over the Coosa River will be converted into a one-way path to keep traffic flowing to I-20 WB. I-20 EB drivers who normally take the US-78 bridge to go into Lincoln must use Exit 168 instead.

Prepare now for the traffic delays the repair closure and detours will cause.

‼️ NOTICE ‼️

⚠️ I-20 west bound ⚠️

Extended lane closure coming for I-20
Westbound bridge repairs.

Riverside - ALDOT is preparing for a significant maintenance project on the I-20 WB bridge over the Coosa River (MP 164.724) which will require an extended lane closure.
In early October, area motorists and businesses should prepare for only one lane of westbound traffic on the bridge for up to seven days during the critical maintenance.
ALDOT is offering advance notice to give everyone affected by the expected traffic delays an opportunity to find secondary paths around the construction on 1-20 Westbound in Riverside.
More specific timelines and alternate route instructions will be released one week prior to the bridge lane closure.
